In Indonesia, the Philippines and much of Southeast Asia the dominant vehicle is a motorbike, and motorbike damage is close to absent from claims models trained on US and European car fleets; CarDD is 4,000 car images behind a licensing form. Contributors photograph damage on their own vehicle, or another's with permission, in a fixed progression: whole vehicle with the damage in context, damaged panel, damage close up, plus the plate. They then answer two short questions; close-up-only sets and sets mixing vehicles are rejected. Recruitment is confined to 11 Southeast Asian countries, one set per contributor. The wide-to-close structure supports localization as well as classification, and the questionnaire gives a first label layer.
